Both me and Rachel couldn't be more curious to what the restaurant and the people would be like.
We got out of bed, had our delicious English breakfast, got ready and at around half past ten we got in the car and drove toward the golf course.
We had arrived a little early on purpose, so that we could meet Susan (the manager). Susan showed us around the small golf course restaurant, got us our pinnies and introduced us to the women in the kitchen and behind the bar.
In the beginning, everything was of course a little awkward. We weren't quite sure what to do and how to act. But this changed naturally during the day.
Rachel and I were responsible for doing the dishes and such.
Also, we were taught how to make the tea, coffee and hot chocolate and serve these to the customers.
Our first job was to clean one of the shelves just so that we could chat with the ladies in the kitchen and get to know our way around. Tere were two ladies taking care of the food, one or two behind the bar, Susan, and us doing the dishes cleaning and serving.
I can not describe in words how nice and lovely everyone has been to us. They showed us our ways around and chatted as if we had known them for ages.
Today, it was not too busy in the restaurant but it was busiest from twelve to two, which we really noticed by the increase in dishes that had to be cleaned, then put in the dishwasher, and then put back into the cupboards. At around two o'clock, Rachel and I had our lunch together. We got this delicious plate of chips and vegetable soup from Suzanne the cook.
16:00
Time to take off our pinnies and go, Rachel's aunt Sandra picked us up and drove us home.
